Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of digital transformation on the operational efficiency of Vietnamese commercial banks during the 2015-2924 period. Utilizing panel data from 28 banks with a total of 280 observations, the research employs a combination of panel data regression and the System Generalized Method of Moments to address endogeneity issues. The empirical results indicate that increasing investment in digital technology and the development of digital banking have significant positive effects on profitability and the optimization of operating costs. However, this transformation process also presents challenges regarding cybersecurity and operational risks. These findings provide crucial implications for commercial banks in designing sustainable digital transformation roadmaps and for regulatory authorities in refining the legal framework.
